LARGE AND MEDIUM-SIZED RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS
/ OUR REFERENCES
1. PLACE FLAGEY (BRUSSELS)
In collaboration with the architectural firm Greisch and the construction company Heijmans, GlassProjects developed a large canopy for a tram stop, smaller canopies for bus stops as well as accessways to lifts and stairs.
Our public structures deal with external problems (traffic, vibrations, population, etc.) while remaining accessible and easy to maintain.
Our services also include engineering and the installation of certain safety glazing.
2. THEATERPLEIN (ANTWERP)
GlassProjects has left its “mark” on the construction of the transparent aluminium canopy: a sustainable solution when scaled up and proportionate to its environment. The renovated square has become a pleasant meeting place thanks in part to a clever design, flawless execution and the installation of an aluminium structure.
To this end, we joined forces with Studio Associato, Secchi-Vigano and Antwerpse Bouwwerken.
3. HOTEL DEWEZ (BRUSSELS)
For the restoration of this architectural gem by Laurent-Benoît Dewez, GlassProjects developed an innovative technical solution. The dome consists of a self-supporting aluminium structure with a large span incorporating bonded triangular glazing.
This expert work was carried out on behalf of Art & Build, in collaboration with the construction company Colen.
4. MEIR 48 (ANTWERP)
For Meir 48 in the centre of Antwerp, we designed our dome overlooking
a historical dome. We also incorporated a maintenance system into it. In addition to designing the project with an aluminium roof, we also provided advice on smoke extraction and cleaning installations.
Our partners in this project: Orens Van Grimbergen Architects and the construction company Amart.
5. MUSIC CHAPEL (WATERLOO)
The Music Chapel was given a glass facade adorned with a printed music score. Building Integrated Photo Voltaics (BIPV) technology transformed a solar panel into a functional and aesthetic building component.
We developed this project for AM. Synergy International-l’Escaut Architecture, in collaboration with the construction company Amart.
6. RIVIERENHOF (BERCHEM)
The Rivierenhof School building was renovated and extended by Architectuuratelier Ambiorix and the construction company Strabag. GlassProjects was put in charge of the fire-resistant and accessible domes (160 in total). The cylindrical domes, integrated into the park’s above-ground facilities, allow more natural light to enter the underground workshops.
7. CAMPUS T2 (GENK)
At Campus T2, education, entrepreneurship and innovation come first. Atelier Kempe Thill and the construction company Strabag designed a new complex that provides space for theory and practice.
GlassProjects created the minimalist flat roof, which owes its sleek appearance to its bonded structure.
